The RPS Lit Limo has a new schedule for the summer. Starting June 8th, the Lit Limo is visiting lots of locations this summer. Make sure to stop by and pick up some new books for summer reading! Click the headline above to see the schedule.
The BOES Spring Concert featuring our harp, orchestra, band, and choir ensembles will hold their Spring Concert on Thursday, May 14th at 6PM in the school auditorium.
The first graders will be performing their musical "SQUIRM" on Thursday, May 21st at 1:30 PM in the school auditorium.

Great News! BOES was accepted into the 2026-2027 Disney Musicals in Schools: STAGE CONNECT program! This is an amazing opportunity and we are so excited. Make sure to click the headline above to find out more about this program!
The final Awards Ceremony of the year will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026. The first and second grade ceremony will be held at 8:30 AM, and the third and fourth grade ceremony will be held at 9:30 AM. Kindergarten will hold their graduation ceremony on May 27th, and the 5th grade Moving On ceremony will be held on May 29th.
We hope to see as many family members as we can, but if you are unable to make it, please join us via the livestream link included on the flyer.

Congratulations to Ms. Alexandra Amirato, Barack Obama Elementary's 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year! Ms. Amirato is a kindergarten teacher and is dedicated to helping her students become the best learners and best people that they can be. Voted Teacher of the Year by the other faculty members at BOES, we are proud to have Ms. Amirato represent our school. Congratulations, Ms. A, on this well-deserved honor!
The first and third graders will be taking a field trip on May 8th to the Science Museum of Virginia. The cost is eight dollars for students and adults and can be paid online at the Student Payment Portal.
