She has held many positions over the years including classroom teacher, technology and math lead teacher, summer school principal, assistant principal and principal.

The school is no secret now, as a grand celebration was held in the spring of 2020 to commemorate the renaming of the school after the first African-American president of the United States!
Mrs. Moore is consumed with pride when she reflects over the years and all the many awards and accolades the school has received during her tenure. Just to name a few, the school has been recognized numerous times as a Distinguished Title I School, has received the Governor’s Award for Educational Excellence and was the first school in Richmond Public Schools to earn the National Blue Ribbon School Award from the United States Department of Education.
When Mrs. Moore is away from her school family, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her “other” family, particularly her loving husband, Junius. She especially enjoys those moments when she can exercise, cook and bake with her daughter, Amber.
