Principal's Message

Dear Barack Obama Parents, Families and Brightly Shining Students,

The year 2024 has certainly brought about a change at BOES. I want to take a moment to express
my respect and admiration for our recently retired principal, Mrs. Jennifer K. Moore, who served
in this leadership capacity for 19 years! During this time, she has touched the lives of countless
children and families. Her impact is far-reaching and her influence is hard to measure. At
BOES, we call ourselves “The Stars” and Mrs. Moore is our forever Star to whom we wish an
abundance of love, peace and happiness. She will be greatly missed and eternally held in high
esteem.

During this time of transition, I humbly accept the role of “Acting Principal” for the remainder of
this school year. My love for this school, the faculty and the entire BOES extended family runs
deep. I have spent the past 9.5 years of my life as a BOES star and I cannot imagine being
anywhere else.

I have always believed that teaching is the most important job one could have. I am proud of the
teaching that I see when I walk into classrooms. I am even more proud of the learning that takes
place within these classrooms. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “We have some highly
intelligent children here at Barack Obama Elementary School!” Our students are talented in so
many ways and it’s up to us, the adults in their lives, to nurture these talents and help our
students meet their full potential.

As the school year progresses, I want to continue fostering positive relationships with our
families. Please know that my door is always open to meet with BOES parents and hear your
ideas, dreams and concerns. We are a team and when School and Home are connected, our
students win!

Thank you, BOES Parents and Families, for your steadfast support!
Together, we shine!
Dr. Jacqueline Drye
