An Update Regarding Barack Obama Elementary

Dear Obama Staff and Families, 

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we’ve worked to ensure that Obama is safe and ready for staff and students. We are writing to share an update. 

This morning, external partners conducted another air quality test, and unfortunately, it came back positive for elevated levels of mold spores. The full test is attached. 

We will do another round of cleaning and remediation through the day tomorrow, followed by testing Saturday morning. This means that the first day of school will be Tuesday at the earliest, as teachers will need Monday to set up their rooms. We will continue to keep you all posted as we test and clean. 

Please know that student and staff health and safety are our absolute top priority. Nobody will enter the building until we are absolutely certain it is safe to do so.
