AM Update

Good afternoon, Obama Community,

My apologies for the delay in sending out our first message of the day. We experienced some technical issues with our Google Suite that impacted our operations. I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Air Quality Assessments:

We are committed to monitoring air quality and sharing updates as they become available.

• 3rd Floor: We have received verbal confirmation that all rooms, with the exception of Room 307, showed air quality levels below the outdoor count. We are awaiting the formal written report and will share it with you as soon as it arrives. Remediation work in Room 307 began today.

• Upcoming Testing: Testing is scheduled for the 2nd floor today and the basement this Saturday.

Moisture Remediation and Building Improvements:

We are proactively addressing the root causes of moisture in our building to prevent future issues.

• Addressing Underlying Issues: We have received an interim report from our remediation specialists identifying areas requiring attention, including leaky pipes, water intrusion around windows/bricks, and roof maintenance needs. Our teams are actively addressing these items.

• Humidity Management: We are pleased to report that the relative humidity in nearly the entire building is within the 49–58% range. To ensure optimal conditions, we have already placed dehumidifiers in the two spaces that measured slightly above 60%. Furthermore, we are moving forward with a plan to install dehumidifiers in all classrooms starting next week as an added layer of preventative maintenance.
