Good morning, Obama Community,

We were thrilled to welcome back our Obama Elementary School scholars today! It was wonderful to see everyone back in the building for the 2026-27 school year.

Please see below for updates on the status of the building and transportation moving forward.

Facilities

  • Humidity & Temperatures: Humidity levels have remained low, with this morning’s readings between 44% and 56% relative humidity. Temperatures ranged between 69 and 75 degrees throughout the building.

  • Bathroom Access: Single bathrooms will remain closed off, as water to those specific units has been turned off to ensure we do not have any active leaks. Entrances to these bathrooms have been secured to make sure no one accidentally uses facilities without running water.

  • Ongoing Monitoring: Dehumidifiers will continue to run throughout the building and in every classroom. We will continue to monitor temperature and humidity daily, and air quality will be tested monthly.

Transportation

  • Status: A return to regular bus routes has begun for the start of school today.

Communication

  • Please note that this evening’s 5 pm message will be our final reopening message.
