Monthly Building Update

Posted Date: 10/06/26 (06:49 PM)

Good evening, Obama Community,

I hope you’re all having a wonderful week! As promised, please see below for our monthly updates regarding the Obama building.

Indoor Air Quality

  • As part of our continued monitoring of indoor air quality at Obama, we are scheduled to conduct our monthly air sampling on Thursday, October 8. Results are anticipated on the afternoon of Friday, October 9.

  • Humidity sensors have also been ordered for each classroom to provide additional monitoring of conditions throughout the building. We will update you with the finalized installation timeline, when available.

Ongoing Moisture Intrusion Inspections

  • The Facilities team has continued to inspect the building for possible sources of moisture, including performing window casing inspections and repairs, as well as roofing repairs.

  • The individual classroom bathrooms remain closed so that more extensive repairs can be conducted to ensure they do not become a source of moisture in the building.

Chiller Replacement

  • Obama’s new chiller is currently scheduled to arrive in November, at which point installation will move forward.

  • Since the final installation will require taking the HVAC system offline, the work will be completed over winter break to ensure heating is not interrupted while school is in session.

Painting Repairs

  • A number of rooms are scheduled to receive ceiling paint repairs this weekend. The original work completed in August experienced adhesion issues, so the contractor will return to correct the identified challenges.

Thank you again for your continued partnership!

With great appreciation,

Jason
