Monthly Building Update - Follow-Up

Good evening, Obama Community,

We sincerely apologize for the delayed follow-up to our most recent update. As promised, please see below for additional details related to our monthly updates regarding the Obama building. 

Indoor Air Quality

• Air quality testing was completed on October 8, 2026. Samples were taken from a room on each floor of the building, and all showed mold spore levels below those outside. We have attached the test results to this message.

Bathroom Repairs

• Repairs for classroom bathrooms are underway. Those in the nurse’s office and kindergarten classrooms have been prioritized for initial work, and we will continue with additional grades as work is completed. 

Dehumidification

• As the cooling season comes to a close, we plan to explore removing dehumidifiers from the building, as dehumidification is typically unnecessary during the winter due to lower ambient humidity levels. We plan to turn off dehumidifiers through the close of October while continuing to monitor humidity levels without dehumidification.

  • If humidity levels remain low as expected, we will remove dehumidifiers through the winter until Spring, when the cooling season returns.
